Hi there everyone,
My name is Takuto, and you’re probably wondering why this 19 musical blog post is all written in English. No, it’s not a glitch on your computer. I’m just very very bad at Japanese, but enough about me, let’s talk about the amazing Yuka Komatsubara!
I first saw Yuka in the Fall performance of “Take a Moment and Go Around the World”, where she played the main character. I won’t go into detail about what the story was about, partially because it would take too long, and partially because it was all in Japanese and I think I misunderstood a good portion of it. Oof. Regardless, the role she played was a very very nice character, who cares for those around her. This time, for the first grader performance, the role she’s playing is a very very nice character, who cares for those around her. It makes sense, because when you see Yuka, it’s hard to imagine she could be anything but nice. Every time I see her, I see the signature Yuka smile, which can brighten up anyone’s day.
Don’t you feel happy already?
Imagine seeing this face on a wanted poster.
Recently, I got to spend time with her to work on her character for the first grader performance, and working with her was just super fun. She does her best to figure out how she should act in each scene, remembering her lines. Although it’s a lot of hard work, and she can sometimes get stressed by it, she keeps pushing through, and works harder to be able to give a great performance.
I’ve only know Yuka for, what, like a month? But she, along with everyone else in EM, has been so welcoming and kind to me. This is truly a great bunch of people, and you’d be doing yourself a disservice by missing this musical that everyone’s been working so hard on. That’s all for me, stay tuned for the next introduction 🙂
